Directions
By Car
Important traffic information
Please note that the Gleimstraße or the well-known Gleimtunnel cannot be passed by car. Due to a construction
site there is no possibility to pass this tunnel by car. Bypassing is possible via the
Bernauer-/Eberswalderstraße/Schönhauser Allee or the Behm-/Schievelbeiner-Straße/Schönhauser Allee and takes in both directions between 10 and 20 minutes longer,
depending on traffic.
For those arriving by car we recommend the famous route planner on the web. Please note that the directions to the hall are not so easily
to find, therefore, we recommend the preparation with Google Maps or
bing maps. A map of the area around the hall you will find
here.
Parking
Right at the Max-Schmeling-Halle are only very few parking areas available. Moreover, around the hall a pay and display policy is in function by the
district management of
Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. From Monday to Saturday from 9 to 24 o'clock every hour you have to pay a parking fee of € 1.00. Unfortunately we have no
control over these costs. We
recommend spectators and participants to use the public transport (see below). If you want to go by car please plan some time for finding a parking
space. Parking is possible
next to the streets around the hall, in the western part of the Gleim street west to the tunnel (Berlin-Wedding, no pay and display policy, walk
about 400m) and the
Eberswalderstraße (Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, pay and display policy in function, walk about 700m). Please note any holding and parking bans.
Public Transportation
The Max-Schmeling-Halle is also accessible by public transport. It is centrally located between the U + S-Station Gesundbrunnen and the U +
S-Station Schönhauser Allee. In
addition, you can reach the hall from the subway station Eberswalder Str. There are the tramlines M1, M10 and M12, as well as the bus 247.
Unfortunately, none of them stops
right at the hall. The distances of the footpaths are shown in the table below.
Here
you can find a map of the area around the hall.
